Apex Legends Season 13 Brings a New Rank System To The Game

Apex Legends Season 13 is just around the corner, and it will be bringing a new rank system with it. Respawn is bringing this improvement to the rank system in response to requests by the community.

Respawn has termed these changes as “Ranked Reloaded.” The primary goal of this update is to reduce the skill gap between the top-ranked players, especially Master and Predator players. Furthermore, the new rank system will majorly impact the rank of all the players. However, on the bright side, it will be more consistent.

Respawn will implement many improvements to the rank system, including adjustments to the kill points awarded to players, the introduction of tier demotions, a change to the match entrance fee, and the inclusion of an entirely new tier to the ranked system.

As Apex Legends is a game that requires teamwork, the system will reward players at the team level. Now, every player on a team will receive some RP when any player gets a kill.

New: RP will now be rewarded at 50% for killing players who did not assist their teammates (Not granted to dead teammates).

The primary objective of Apex Legends is Survival, and kills are essential to get you there. Placing limits on kills rewards puts some emphasis and pressure on hitting these limits. So, Respawn will remove the Kill RP Cap.

Removed: Respawn will remove the kill cap

New: The base value of each kill is worth increasingly less, down to a minimum.

Like Ranked Arenas, the highest RP threshold achieved will decide the rewards for a player.

Modified: Tier Demotion Protection will be applicable for three games after promotion into a higher tier.

New: Players can demote out of a tier, halfway down to the last division.

Respawn will introduce a new rank, Rookie, to the game, placed below Bronze. There will be no entry fee for Rookie, but there will be some for Bronze.

Existing players won’t be affected by the introduction of the Rookie Tier and cannot be demoted or reset into it.

Modified: RP thresholds for all tiers and divisions will be adjusted. Respawn will change the   length of each division by 200 RP.

Apex Legends Season 13 will bring some notable changes to the rank system. It will be interesting to see how these changes will work out in the actual game. Click here to read our detailed article on Season 13 of Apex Legends.
