BGMI Has Been Removed From The Google Play Store

BGMI Removed from the Google Play Store has stunned the entire gaming community. However, the exact reason is not known.

On 28th of July, the Google Play Store suddenly removed Battlegrounds Mobile India without any notice or announcements. Later on, it suddenly disappeared from the iOS store too.

Meanwhile, Krafton has not spoken a word yet. We will have to wait for an official announcement. Also, the game is still playable on the devices that have it installed.

The official website of BGMI still has the download link of the apk.

Everyone is speculating that the government possibly banned it due to questions revolving around the game.

Recently Mr Vijaysai Reddy questioned the MEITY, about the following –

  1. Why a blocked app reappeared with a new avatar with similar sounding names.
  2. A child accused of killing his mother, who was playing the game.

Several influencers in the gaming industry have commented on this incident –

Moreover, Mr Shiva Nandy, the owner of Skyesports posted a story on Instagram. He said that tomorrow, that is, 29th July, is a very big day for Indian Esports.

With the emoji he used, it is clear that a court case is going on and the judgement will come tomorrow.

Another possible reason for the ban or removal could be data security issues. As we know, BGMI features the same gameplay as PUBG Mobile, which is still banned in India.

It had to comeback with an Indian subsidiary and new Indian servers. The game has been running smoothly since July 2021.

BGMI esports too skyrocketed in India. With a prestigious LAN by Nodwin Gaming, it was telecasted on Star Sports 2 – a sports channel. It just took esports to a higher level.

To sum up, we have to wait for the court to make a decision. Krafton will make official announcements very soon.
