BGMI Masters Series Breaks All the Viewership Records on TV!

BGMI Masters Series, Nodwin Gaming’s prestigious tournament has broken all the viewership records. It is the first ever esports tournament which is being broadcasted on TV. 

Nodwin partnered with Star Sports to bring this event on TV. All the matches go live at 8 PM on Star Sports 2. Being a popular sports channel, it has gained a huge audience for esports too.   

This wonderful LAN started on 24 June 2022 with some of the best teams in India. Currently it is heading towards its Grand Finale. 

Grand Finals feature the top 16 teams who will fight for 5 days. The event will conclude on Sunday, 17th July.

BGMI Masters Series Viewership :

Looking at the statistics, it is quite surprising that the first esports tournament on TV is getting such a high viewership.

Star Sports 2 has recorded 1.2 million impressions on Day 1 itself. In contrast the series hit 12.3 million views within the first eight days of broadcast. 

With this, the Day 1 stats surpasses the Australian Open 2022 as well as the French Open Day 1. 

Both of these are one of the well-watched events, the Australian Open had 10.5 lakh/1 million impressions on Day 1. Meanwhile the French Open Day 1, which had 6.5 lakh impressions.

The UEFA CL Semi-Finals had 4.6 lakh impressions, according to TV channel data. 

The opening day of the Series stats also had a higher AMA (Average Minute Audience). It was 20% greater than for the initial England vs. New Zealand test match.

The UEFA Champions League Final between Liverpool and Real Madrid and the French Open Roland Garros Finals with Rafael Nadal had a reach of 290% and 80%, respectively, on the first day of the BGMI Masters Series.

From June 24 to July 2, 2022, the impressions on the digital platforms Loco and smartphone lock screen Glance Live also indicated an astounding 53.9 million combined views.

The viewership is expected to break even more records on its final day – 17 July. 

With this, the esports scenario in India is becoming greater. After reaching such high audiences, it will definitely have a positive impact and a recognition for pursuing esports as a career.
