Call of Duty Mobile Generates a Total Revenue of Over $1.5 Billion

According to a recent report by Sensor Tower, Call of Duty Mobile has generated revenue of over $1.5 Billion in its lifetime. 2021 has been the best year for the game as per revenue collection.

CODM is a game published by Activision and developed by Tencent’s Timi Studios, launched on the 1st of October 2019. It was one of the largest mobile game launches ever. It generated total revenue of $480 million with 270 million downloads within a year.

2021 was the best year for CODM in terms of revenue generation. In 2021, it experienced a 45 percent growth in player spending as compared to 2020. This was a result of the launch of the game in China in December 2020. Moreover, the game collected a revenue of $104.5 million on the country’s app store in 2021. 

Call of Duty Mobile ranks at number 14 in the highest revenue-generating mobile title globally in 2021. Moreover, it ranks third right after Free Fire at number 2 and PUBG Mobile at number 1 in terms of mobile shooter games.

In addition, the launch of COD Mobile has also boosted the revenue collection of the Mobile Shooter Genre as a whole. In 2019, the Mobile Shooter genre collected total revenue of $3.8 billion.

The genre collected total revenue of $5.7 billion, showing year-over-year growth of 50 percent, in 2020. Total revenue generated in 2021 by the Mobile Shooter genre was $6.3 billion, showing year-over-year growth of 10.5 percent.

The massive success of Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Free Fire has drastically boosted the Mobile Shooter genre revenue collection. On the other hand, famous PC shooter games like Valorant and Apex Legends are soon to be released on Mobile platform

 This will boost the Mobile Shooter genre even more.
