Free Fire becomes the most watched battle royale game of 2021 with a whopping 1.08 billion watch hours.
According to a report by Stream Hatchet, Garena Free Fire is the most watched battle royale game by October 2021. On the other hand, Fortnite comes second on the list with 1.02 billion watch hours, which is 60 million watch hours less than Free Fire.

In the first four months of 2021, Free Fire had a higher watch time than Fortnite. However, after April, Garena Free Fire surpassed the watch time of Fortnite for the next six consecutive months.
The Free Fire World Championship 2021 contributed massively to increasing the watch time of Free Fire. Garena held the Championship in May, since then watch time of the game is continuously increasing, as we can see in the graph. Moreover, this Championship became the most watched Esports event in the world with a whopping 5.4 million peak concurrent viewers on the live stream of the event. Earlier, the record for highest concurrent viewers was held by League of Legends: Worlds 2019 with 3.9 million concurrent viewers.
Around 1.9 million viewers of the Free Fire World Championship 2021 were from the Hindi stream of the event. Moreover, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, no Indian team played the Free Fire World Championship 2021.
Garena live streamed the event in 16 different languages across the globe. However, only the Portuguese language stream accounted for 25.9% of overall viewers, whereas the Hindi language stream accounted for 22.5% of total viewers.
Free Fire has been getting extremely popular for the past couple of years with a massive audience. It has been gaining a lot of audiences, which made it the most watched battle royale game of 2021. Moreover, after the release of Free Fire Max, it is gaining a huge number of new players.
