Gambit Esports defeated Team Envy for the title is VCT Masters Berlin 2021

Gambit Esports became the champions of VCT Masters Berlin 2021 by defeating Team Envy in the grand finals. Team Envy had a great run till the semifinals. However, in the grand finals, Gambit Esports didn’t give them a chance to dominate and won the best-of-five series with a 3-0 scoreline. 

Finally, Masters Berlin 2021 has come to an end. However, the VCT is headed towards its final championship for the year, “Valorant Championship 2021,” which is set to take place at the end of the year. 

VCT Masters Berlin 2021 recap 

VCT Masters Berlin 2021 journey from quarterfinals to the grand finals was quite surprising. All the teams played all rounds in the best-of-three series except the grand final. Let’s briefly preview what happened from the VCT Berlin 2021 quarterfinals to the grand finals.

Quarter Finals 

In the quarterfinals, eight teams played four matches. The losing team from each round was eliminated, and the winning team advanced to the semifinals.

Quarterfinal 1: 100 Thieves vs Acend

On the first map of Ascent, Acend showed a brilliant performance and won the map with a scoreline of 13-9.

However, in the following maps of Haven and Breeze, 100 Thieves made a comeback and won both the maps with score lines of 13-8 and 14-12, respectively.

Hence, 100 Thieves qualified for the semifinals with a final scoreline of 2-1.

Quarterfinal 2: Team Envy vs Sentinels

Team Envy showed a brilliant performance and defeated Sentinels. 

On the maps of Haven and Split, Envy defeated Sentinels with score lines of 15-13 and 13-7, respectively.

Hence, Team Envy qualified for the semifinals with a final scoreline of 2-0.

Quarterfinal 3: Vision Strikers vs Gambit Esports

In the first map of Bind, Gambit Esports won with a scoreline of 13-2. However, Vision Strikers made a comeback in the second map of Split with a scoreline of 13-7. 

Gambit won the third map of Icebox with a scoreline of 13-8.

Hence, Gambit Esports qualified for the semifinals with a final scoreline of 2-1.

Quarterfinal 4: G2 vs KRÜ

In the first two maps of Icebox and Haven, G2 showed exceptional performance and won both the maps with score lines of 13-9 and 13-7, respectively.

Hence, G2 qualified for the semifinals with a final scoreline of 2-0.

Semifinals 

In the semifinals, four teams played two matches. The winning team advanced to the grand finals, and the losing team was eliminated. 

Semifinal 1: 100 Thieves vs Team Envy

Team Envy won both the maps, Haven and Ascent, with a scoreline of 13-5 and 13-8, respectively.

Hence, Team Envy qualified for the grand finals with a scoreline of 2-0. On the other hand, Team Envy eliminated 100 Thieves. 

Semifinal 2: Gambit Esports vs G2

Gambit Esports won both the maps, Breeze and Icebox, with a scoreline of 13-10 and 13-0, respectively.

Hence, Gambit Esports qualified for the grand finals with a scoreline of 2-0. On the other hand, Gambit Esports eliminated G2. 

Grand finals 

The most anticipated event concluded on the 19th of September, where the two best teams around the globe fought for the ultimate title. 

Gambit Esports and Team Envy fought against each other in a series of best-of-five for the ultimate title. However, Gambit Esports completely dominated and won the Grand Finals with a scoreline of 3-0.

Gambit Esports won the first three maps of Bind, Haven and Split with score lines of 15-13, 13-11 and 13-9, respectively. 

They showed an exceptional performance in the entire tournament and won the ultimate title. In addition, Gambit Esports also qualified for the Valorant Championship 2021.

Finally, the ten-day long tournament of VCT Masters Berlin 2021 came to an end. Team Gambit proved themselves as the current champion of Valorant. However, the main Valorant event of 2021, Valorant Championship 2021, is remaining, where the best teams around the globe will compete for the ultimate title of the year.
