Gambit Esports finally allows its players in the Valorant Champions Tour 2022 under a neutral name. Since the Ukraine-Russia war conditions aren’t so good at this time, Gambit allows their team to participate with a new name.
Riot Games had to postpone VCT EMEA matches. Meanwhile, Gambit Esports, NaVi, FunPlus Phoenix, Acend and more teams were waiting to compete.
The matches continued on 5 March onwards. However, Gambit couldn’t play at that time.

Announcing on Twitter, Gambit Esports wrote –
“We sincerely wish for tournaments to continue and players to focus on competition and sportsmanship.
We’ve therefore taken the decision to empower our players, Redgar, Chronicle, d3ffo, Sheydos, and nAts, to take part in the upcoming VCT Competition as an independent team.”
With this, the roster will no longer compete under the banner of Gambit. The team is ready to fight as ‘M3C’ at VCT.
Gambit made the same decision with its VALORANT roster as it did with its CS:GO roster. The organisation announced on March 11 that its players will be allowed to compete in ESL Pro League Season 15 as a neutral team.
However, unlike Riot, ESL made it clear that organisations with “apparent ties” to the Russian government were not allowed to participate in the EPL.
About Gambit Esports
Gambit Esports is a Russian esports organisation. They entered Valorant esports in September 2020.
Gambit became one of the best teams in the CIS regions. They were crowned as the champions of VCT Masters Berlin 2021. Also, they were the runner up at VCT Champions 2021.
Their team has the following players –
- Timofey ‘Chronicle’ Khromov
- Nikita ‘d3ffo’ Sudakov
- Bogdan ‘Sheydos’ Naumov
- Ayaz ‘nAts’ Akhmetshin
- Igor ‘Redgar’ Vlasov
Now the team can participate in events with a new name.
To sum up, the war has affected the esports scenario too. So many organisers have banned Russian teams from big events. Hopefully the conditions will get better soon.
