FFIC 2022 Spring Closed Qualifiers

Garena postpones the FFIC 2022 Spring Closed Qualifiers

Garena released the new FFIC 2022 Spring schedule on its official Discord server. The closed qualifiers were supposed to start from the 18th of February, but it can not due to the ban. The updated schedule of FFIC 2022 Spring does not mention the start date of Closed Qualifiers.

Free Fire India Championship 2022 Spring Online Qualifiers took place on the 11th of February, and Garena set the next stage to start on the 18th of February. However, the government of India imposed a ban on Free Fire and 53 other apps on the 14th of February.

What happens to FFIC 2022 Spring after Free Fire Ban

The Free Fire India Championship 2022 Spring Closed Qualifiers were scheduled from the 16th to 20th of February, 2022. However, the ban shocked the Indian Free Fire community and affected the Free Fire India Championship 2022 Spring’s schedule.

Garena has temporarily updated the schedule with undefined dates for all the upcoming stages of the championship. It is very unlikely that Garena will update the schedule before the ban lifts. On the other hand, no one knows whether the government of India will ever lift the ban on Free Fire.

The Free Fire ban will have some serious repercussions on the Indian Gaming Community and Garena Free Fire (the game). Banning the top-performing and most-played games in the country will surely affect the development of the Gaming and Esports industry.

In the past couple of years, the gaming and esports industry (including content creation and streaming) has sky-rocketed across the globe, making it the most lucrative entertainment industry.

Directly banning the games, rather than giving a warning or spreading awareness, seems to be a dicey decision for the development of the entire industry and not just Free Fire.

All the hard work put in by all the players across the country to fight in Free Fire India Championship 2022 Spring is most likely to go in vain.

On the other hand, Garena is trying its best to work out with the officials to find a way to lift the ban. However, we might have to wait for a long time before any further announcement. Stay tuned to our Instagram page and website for more updates.
