Global Esports lost their second match of APAC LCQ against PaperRex.

Global Esports lost their second match of APAC LCQ against PaperRex. However, they are still in the competition. Moreover, they will be playing their next game in Lower Bracket Round 2 against the winner of F4Q vs Fennel.

Global Esports is the only team to represent the South Asian region in the Last Chance Qualifiers. However, they had a tough day while playing their second match on day 2.

Global Esports loses against PaperRex in APAC LCQ Upper Bracket Quarterfinals

Teams played the matches in the best-of-three format. PaperRex showed a consistent performance and defeated Global Esports with a scoreline of 2-0. However, it’s not the end of the story yet. Global Esports will get one more chance in Lower Bracket Round 2.

Let’s have a look at what happened in the APAC LCQ Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, Global Esports vs PaperRex.

Map no. 1

PaperRex selected Icebox as the first map of the match. 

In the first half of the map, PaperRex was ahead of Global Esports with a considerable margin. The score after the first half in Icebox was PaperRex 9-3 Global Esports. However, in the second half, PaperRex did not lose even a single round and won the map with a scoreline of 13-3.

Global Esports: Jett, Viper, Sova, Killjoy and Sage

PaperRex: Jett, Viper, Sova, Reyna and Sage

This map leads to the overall score of PaperRex 1-0.

Map no. 2

Global Esports selected Split as the second map of the match.

Surprisingly, PaperRex did not lose a single round in the first half of the map and got themselves a whopping lead of 12-0. Moreover, in the second half, PaperRex won the pistol round and finished the map with a scoreline of PaperRex 13-0.

Agent composition: 

Global Esports: Astra, Viper, KAY/O, Raze and Cypher

PaperRex: Astra, Breach, Cypher, Raze and Jett 

PaperRex won both the maps and advanced to Upper Bracket Semifinals. On the other hand, Global Esports will get one more chance to continue their journey in APAC LCQ.
