Steam Deck got quality of life changes in the latest patch of CS:GO

The latest patch of CS:GO hit the live servers on the 23rd of August at night. The patch was of only 20 MB and brought a few quality of life for Steam Deck. However, the update is mandatory for all players, with or without Steam Deck, to play the game.

Released in February 2022, the Steam Deck is a portable gaming device made by Valve, the company that published CS:GO. With this update, the Steam Deck will be able to connect to additional controllers using Steam Input. This feature effectively enables Steam users to play any controller-compatible game on their device.

Patch Notes of the latest patch of CS:GO

The new patch brings some minor but important changes to the CS:GO for Steam Deck. Following are the official patch notes of the latest update.

[Steam Deck/Steam Input]

– Steam Deck now allows other game controllers to be connected via Steam Input. All connected controllers combine inputs. (You can play with Gyros Akimbo if you are very cool).

– “Pitch and Roll Combined” is the new default Gyro conversion on Steam Deck. All other controllers default to “Yaw”

– Radial menus (in particular, Quick Buy radials) no longer persist when dying.

– Some glyph fixes in Spectator mode.

Although it was a minor update focused on Steam Deck, several community servers apparently went down due to a patch. Players weren’t able to play custom DeathMatches, and some players weren’t able to play normal matches. However, the developers have resolved the issues, and the game works completely fine now.

The latest patch of CS:GO surely does bring some required changes to the game. Furthermore, the game needed the addition of connecting other game controllers to Steam Deck via Steam Input.
