Around 64 percent of total revenue generated by PUBG Mobile came from China, by the Chinese variant of the game, Game for Peace. The United States contributed a total of 8 percent of total revenue generated, whereas Turkey contributed 7 percent.

According to the recent report by Sensor Tower, PUBG Mobile leads the list of highest grossing mobile games of January 2022. Moreover, the MOBA game by Tencent, Honor of Kings, ranks second on the list with $237 million in total revenue generated.
Around 96% of the overall revenue of Honor of Kings was generated from China, followed by Taiwan with 2 percent.
Genshin Impact by miHoYo ranks third on the list with overall revenue of $208.7 million. It shows 37 percent of increment compared to January 2021.
Candy Crush Saga by King and Roblox by Roblox Corporation ranks fourth and fifth respectively.
The global market of mobile games generated an estimated revenue of about $7.4 billion from player spending in January 2022. This shows a 7 percent decline in revenue generated compared to January 2021.
Alone the US generated around 28 percent ($2.1 billion) of total player spending. Japan ranked second with a total of 19.3 percent of the contribution, followed by China at 17.8 percent.
It is important to note that Sensor Tower only considers the revenue generated from Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store. It does not include the revenue generated from all the other third-party app stores. Besides, Google Play Store is banned in China, and users based in China use third-party app markets to install apps. China is one of the most significant contributors to the revenue collection of mobile games on a global scale. So, the actual revenue generated and the highest grossing mobile game of January 2022 might vary.
