Riot Games has updated its logo and launched a new press site. This is a part of its expansion of brand design that Riot will be administering throughout 2022.
According to the recent press release, Riot is looking forward to building “a more cohesive visual system.” Moreover, it will be creating unique assets throughout the year to increase its recognition in the gaming community.
Brand Design Expansion
Riot is looking forward to expanding its brand design throughout 2022. In a recent press release, Riot revealed their plans and explained how these changes will help the company in the long term.
Riot said, “while we made the wordmark a bit more modern, we wanted to retain the original spirit of the fist and make it clear that Riot GAMES remain at our core.”
Riot Games Logo Update
After 2019, Riot has once again changed its logo. The main motive of updating the logo was to update and expand their visual system.
Riot wanted to retain the original spirit of the fist while making it look modern. In the updated logo, the punching fist is a little askew and the font of “Riot Games” has been changed.
“It’s easy to forget what life was like in 2006. iPhones were still a year away from being released and the mobile market was dominated by Blackberries and flip phones. Facebook membership was still limited to college students and Twitter was only a few months old,” said Riot.
Further they added, “so when our first art director originally sketched our logo, no one thought about readability for app use or scaling. As technology changed and we began playing in new environments, it became clear that the logo we used for so long and had grown so fond of needed a rework.”
Riot Games has some great plans for 2022 while keeping its purpose and mission to be the most player-emphasized gaming company in the world.
