Global Esports defeated Enigma Gaming to become the champions of Skyesports Champions Series

Global Esports has defeated Enigma Gaming in the Skyesports Champions Series Grand Finals to become the champions. Although both the teams showed their best performances, Global Esports won the grand finals with a scoreline of 0-0.

Skyesports Champions Series was India’s first official Valorant LAN event, which featured a massive prize pool of USD 30,000. It started on the 19th of May, and it concluded on the 5th of June. Moreover, both the grand finalists of the event have earned a spot for themselves in the VCT Stage 2 APAC Challengers.

Skyesports Champions Series Grand Finals Match

The Grand Finals of SCS 2022 offered audiences an exciting and cutthroat competition between the two best Valorant teams of the South Asian region, Global Esports and Enigma Gaming. The grand finals took place between the two teams in a best-of-five format. Following are the highlights of all the maps of the grand finals. 

Map Veto in Skyesports Champions Series Grand Finals Match

 Enigma Gaming banned Breeze and Global Esports banned Icebox in the map veto process. Further, EG selected Ascent, and GE Selected Split in the first map selection. In the second map selection, EG chose Haven and GE selected Fracture. Finally, the last map, Bind, was selected as the decider map of the match. 

Map No. 1: Ascent 

In the first half of Ascent, GE showed a fantastic performance as defenders for a GE 8-4 EG switch. Later, EG made a comeback in the second half of the map and equalized the score to 12-12. In the first overtime, EG won two consecutive rounds and won the map with a scoreline of EG 14-12 GE. 

Overall score: EG 1-0 GE

Map No. 2: Split

In the first half of Split, Global Esports showed a fantastic performance as attackers for a switch of GE 9-3 EG. Global Esports showed consistent performance in the second half and won the map with GE 13-6 OG scoreline.

Overall score: EG 1-1 GE

Map No. 3: Haven

The first half of Haven ended with a scoreline of 6-6. Later, after a cutthroat competition in the second half, EG managed to win the map with a scoreline of EG 13-11 GE.

Overall score: EG 2-1 GE 

Map No. 4: Fracture 

From the beginning of the fourth map, GE showed a promising performance. GE managed to secure eight rounds as attackers in the first half, whereas EG secured only four. In the second half, GE stayed consistent and won the fourth map with a scoreline of GE 13-8 EG. 

Overall score: EG 2-2 GE

Map No. 5: Bind

Global Esports showed consistence performance in the fifth match, too. The teams managed to set a scoreline of GE 7-5 EG in the first half of Bind. Later, Global Esports showed an amazing performance in the second half and won the map and match with a scoreline of GE 13-9 EG and GE 3-2 EG respectively.

Global Esports has won the Skyesports Champions Series and proved themselves as the best Valorant team in the South Asian region. On the other hand, Enigma Gaming also showed their best performance, but only one team could win.
