Valorant Patch 5.0 is just around the corner, and it will bring a lot of new changes. It will bring the new Pearl map, a new Ascendant rank, and will remove Split entirely from the game.
The highlight of Patch 5.0 is the addition of Pearl and the removal of Split. Pearl is an underwater map covered with a geodome to protect it from water or water impact. Moreover, it is located in Omega Earth and will provide a new experience to all the players.
The Pearl Map in Valorant Patch 5.0
Riot Games released the official trailer of the new map Pearl after multiple teasers and leaks. According to the teaser, Pearl is an underwater city covered with a Radianite-infused polycarbonate Geodome produced by Kingdom Industries. Like most other Valorant maps, the new map will have two spike sites. Furthermore, Pearl is a combination of lengthy tunnels and alleyways with various structures dispersed throughout, such as the Multiverse Museum. Pearl features multiple angles and hiding locations for opponents to camp, along with the vast halls for gunfights.
The Valorant Patch 5.0 will remove Split and add Pearl to the map pool. Furthermore, the addition of Pearl is the main reason behind the removal of Split from the game completely. Riot Games decided to remove Split from the game as they wanted to maintain seven numbers of maps in the game, and it is one of the oldest maps in the game.
Maintaining seven numbers maps will prevent players from completely memorizing the map, making it easier for new players to compete against old players. Although the devs confirmed that Split would be back into the game, we do not know how long it will take.
Valorant Patch 5.0 New Rank Ascendant
Along with the map changes, the Patch 5.0 will also bring a new rank in the game between Diamond and Immortal, called Ascendant. According to Riot Games, there are many players in the Bronze and Silver ranks. The main objective of adding a new rank is to distribute lower ranks without overpopulating the higher ranks appropriately.
The addition of Ascendant will undoubtedly affect the previous ranks of the players. The players below Ascendant will rank higher than before, whereas players above Ascendant will have to grind more to achieve their previous rank. Furthermore, we also expect MMR changes and queue restrictions.
Valorant Patch 5.0 brings considerable changes to the game, including the addition of Pearl, the removal of Spilt, and the new rank Ascendant. It will be exciting to see how players adapt to the new map and a different rank system.
