VCT 2023 Kickoff

VCT 2023 Kickoff Tournament to Be Held in Brazil

VCT 2023 Kickoff Tournament has been announced by Riot. The Valorant Champions Tour 2023 is going to be revolutionary.

As Riot Games brings a new esports roadmap for 2023, the competitive scene seems to change everything. Riot has revealed the locations and format for all the tournaments in 2023.

Here’s everything you need to know –

VCT 2023 Kickoff Tournament :

Riot took 30 teams into their partnership program in 2022. The first event of the VCT 2023 will feature these 30 teams.

The VCT 2023 Kickoff Tournament will be a 3-week long event. In contrast, the 30 teams will be directly invited to the LAN which is going to be held in São Paulo, Brazil.

This is going to be the largest international tournament in the history of Valorant as it brings partnered teams from all the regions.

The winner will receive an additional spot in their respective international league at Masters later this year. For example, if a North American team wins the tournament, their international league, which includes teams from Brazil, Latin America, and North America, will earn an extra spot at Masters.

The tentative dates for the event are 14 February – 5 March 2023.

International Split Matches

Riot has also planned International Split Matches across Los Angeles, Berlin, and Seoul. All these tournaments will have a live audience.

There will be two splits just like Riot hosts it for League of Legends. Moreover, these splits will be pretty similar to the existing Masters and the Champions event.

The VCT Masters tournament will return in June, bringing the best teams from each region. The top teams from each Masters league will also receive direct qualification to Champions.

Last Chance Qualifiers will also return before Champions for each league, with the best teams from each league competing for the final spot in the world championships.

Each league will be given one spot in their respective LCQ tournaments for the Champions event, which will begin in August.

To sum up, the new Valorant esports system looks quite interesting. It will bring more and more teams to the international events as Riot has planned a solid roadmap. New teams will get a good opportunity to showcase their talent.
