VCT Game Changers 2022 : Orangutan Qualifies for Playoffs

VCT Game Changers APAC Series 2 is live now. A new team from India, Orangutan has qualified for the Playoffs. The Playoffs will be live between 7-10 April 2022. 

8 teams from the APAC region will fight in the event. Moreover, the prize pool is $5,000. 

About Orangutan :

Orangutan is an Indian esports organisation. They have their operations in various esports like Valorant, BGMI, and Free Fire. 

They recently announced their Valorant girls’ lineup that has players from India, Phillipines and Pakistan. 

Their team has the following players –

  1. Casper
  2. Sway
  3. Mythica
  4. Japips
  5. Kachow

VCT Game Changers

Riot hosts VCT Game Changers for girls in various regions. Moreover, it runs parallel with the Valorant Champions Tour. 

There are following stages of APAC Game Changers –

  • Group Stage 2nd April – 3rd April, 2022
  • Knockouts 3rd April, 2022
  • Playoffs 7th April – 10th April, 2022

The Group Stage and Knockouts have ended. The playoffs will begin soon.

Playoffs Brackets :

The playoffs will be played in a double elimination format. All matches are best of 3 except the Grand Finals which will be best of 5.

Orangutan’s first match is against Alter Ego Celeste, who are the champions of VCT APAC Series 1 2022. Also, the team won the VCT Game Changers FSL Elite 2021. 

It will be interesting to watch Orangutan against them since it has performed well in every match.

On the other hand, Riot seeded both the Indian teams – Orangutan and Asteria in the same group. The group stage featured 64 teams in 16 groups. 

Moreover, it was quite disappointing to see this as only one team could qualify for the next round. 

Orangutan won 2 matches and qualified with more round points.

To sum up, it is amazing to watch more Indian teams participating in Valorant esports. Orangutan has made India proud. So let’s continue to cheer for India!
